In the past few months, we have been working hard to migrate APPICS to its new home on the TELOS blockchain. TELOS is using the EOS blockchain technology, enabling some of the fastest transactions in the entire blockchain market with just 0.5 seconds transaction speed (10x faster than Binance Smart Chain and 30x faster than Ethereum).
This allows us to create a frictionless user experience of web 2.0 social media and combine it with the power of web 3.0 blockchain technology, giving the APPICS community the best of both worlds.
Our new Telos-based APX token has been live for a few weeks now and is already listed on Newdex.io with an APX/EOS trading pair and APX/TLOS trading pair.
The next step is to list APX with a Bitcoin trading pair on other global exchange platforms as well, providing our community with more opportunities to trade the APX token, to buy APX with bitcoin, and to increase liquidity.
What can you do with APX tokens?
Owning APX tokens and staking them in your APPICS account will give you access to participate in the reward mechanism of the APPICS App. You will be able to upvote posts from other users and assign freshly minted APX tokens to them, which will be paid out directly into their wallets. The more APX you stake, the larger your APPICS Voting Power will grow, allowing you to make more valuable upvotes. Additionally, you are earning a share of those rewards as a curator, which will be paid out to your own wallet when the post payout takes place.
APX tokens that are earned inside the APPICS app can be sent to exchanges and traded for any other currency, or they can be used to make purchases in our network — for example booking flights, hotels or rental cars with JetLegs. This is just the tip of the iceberg and there will be further use-cases for the APX token, which we will announce in the coming days.
The APPICS migration process from Steem-Engine to TELOS is now complete and we have already started the tokenswap from our old EOS-based APX tokens to the new TELOS-based APX tokens a few weeks ago, using our EOS-TELOS bridge.
We are now opening the doors for trading our TELOS-based APX token with our new exchange listings and Bitcoin trading pair on ProBit and ExMarkets.
ProBit.com Exchange
Since we have a large Korean community, it was one of our priorities to have APX listed on a Korean exchange, in order to avoid language barriers and make it as easy as possible for our Korean APPICS family to participate in APX trading as well. 🇰🇷
However, this doesn’t mean that ProBit is only for Koreans — their website probit.com is available in over 20 different languages and they are among the top 25 exchanges in the world according to coinmarketcap.com.
ProBit Global is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in South Korea, offering over 600+ altcoins with USDT, Bitcoin and Ethereum trading pairs. How to register a new account on ProBit
Step 1: Go to https://www.probit.com/ and click on “register”.
Step 2: Enter your email address
Step 3: Enter a secure password. It must be between 8–100 characters long, contain upper- and lowercase letters, at least one number and at least one special character. Further, it mustn’t contain two consecutive identical characters.
Step 4: Agree to the terms & conditions and to the collection and use of personal data. You only have to check the options with a red star to proceed. For privacy reasons, you can leave all optional choices unchecked.
Step 5: Click “register” and confirm the following warning, in case you left any of the optional choices unchecked.
Step 6: Enter the verification code sent to your email address and click “verify”.
Step 7: Go to the login page.
Step 8: Login with your new account details. Make sure you are on https://accounts.probit.kr to avoid any account phishing attempt.
Step 9 (optional): You are now being asked to activate Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for higher account security or you can skip the process and do that later. You can choose between “Mobile Number” and “OTP” (One Time Password, used by Google Authenticator) as options. To activate it later, click on “My Page” and then on your email address. Scroll down to Two-Factor Authentication, where you find the OTP option again. Here, they also support U2F hardware keys like Yubico. Select your preferred method and follow the instructions on the page.
How to deposit Bitcoin on ProBit
To trade APX tokens on ProBit, you need to deposit some Bitcoin first.
Step 1: Go to “Wallet” and click in the dropdown menu on “Deposit”.
Step 2: Bitcoin (BTC) is already pre-selected. If not, enter BTC in the search field next to the magnifying glass. Alternatively select the cryptocurrency of your choice, if supported by ProBit.
Step 3: Copy the deposit Bitcoin address by clicking on the “COPY” button next to the address or scan the QR code below it.
Step 4: Send Bitcoin (or your selected cryptocurrency) to ProBit from your wallet or exchange, where you have stored it. Double check that you have entered the correct address that ProBit has given you and that you are using the correct cryptocurrency that you have selected on ProBit. Any mistake in that process can lead to a loss of your funds!
Step 6: Wait for the deposit. As the warning on Probit says, “Deposits will automatically be processed after 3 network confirmations. Deposit confirmation can be delayed depending on network conditions”. Eventually, your funds will appear in your wallet on ProBit and be ready for the exchange.
How to exchange Bitcoin for APX
Step 1: Click on “Exchange” in the top left menu, which will bring you to the exchange page.
Step 2: Enter “APX” in the search bar on the top left, which says “Symbol or name”.
Step 3: Select the “APX/BTC” trading pair from the filtered selection below.
Pro Tip: Click on the little star left of the APX/BTC trading pair, to add it to your favorites list. You can access your favorites in the “Favorites” tab below the token search bar.
Step 4: You are now seeing the APX/BTC chart in the middle of the screen and the order book with active buy and sell orders as well as the trade feed with past trades on the right side. On the bottom right you have the “buy and sell” trade window. To buy APX tokens with your Bitcoin, go to the “BUY” window. The latest trading price of one single APX token in BTC is already preselected and you don’t have to change anything. If you want though, you can change the price to your choice. You can also click on the prices in the order book, which will enter them in your buy window.
Step 5: Enter the amount of BTC you want to trade for APX in the “AMOUNT” bar. Alternatively, you can click on either of the 25%/50%/75%/100% buttons, to select the according amount of your Bitcoin in percent. It is also possible to enter the amount of APX tokens directly into the “TOTAL” bar, which will automatically calculate the required Bitcoin in the “AMOUNT” bar.
Step 6: After you are sure, you have entered the correct price and trading amount, click on the red “BUY” button. This will enter your buying order to the market. If your price finds a seller, it will be executed automatically. Otherwise it will be visible under your “OPEN ORDERS” in the middle bottom of your screen. In case it doesn’t find a seller, you can always cancel your order there and enter a new one with a different price.
Congratulations, you have now successfully traded APX tokens on ProBit.
ExMarkets
ExMarkets is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange that enables customers to trade dozens of different cryptos with BTC, ETH and USDT pairs, at low transaction fees. Besides their exchange market itself, they offer an IEO Launchpad (initial exchange offering) and are specialized in Market Making to increase liquidity, price and traction of tokens. They are registered in the British Virgin Islands and have their seat in Lithuania.
The following step-by-step instructions will help you to create accounts there and start trading APX tokens with Bitcoin.

How to register a new account on ExMarkets
Step 1: Go to https://exmarkets.com/ and click on “register”.
Step 2: Enter your email address
Step 3: Enter a secure password. It must be at least 8 characters long and must contain at least one letter and one number.
Step 4: Agree to the Terms & Conditions and Anti Spam Policy.
Step 5: Click “Register an account”.
Step 6: Enter the PIN code sent to your email address and click “Log in”.
Step 7: Continue to either “Trading” or the “Members area”.
Step 8 (optional): Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for withdrawals in your user settings and connect your Google Authenticator with your account, to add an extra layer of security for your funds. To access that page click on the person icon in the top right corner. A slide-in menu will appear on the right. Click on “User Actions” to open the sub-menu and then on “Security”. Here you can activate the option “2FA for withdrawals” and confirm it with the PIN sent to your email address. Then you can pair your Google Authenticator by scanning the QR code or enter the code in your authenticator app.
How to deposit Bitcoin on ExMarkets
In order to trade APX tokens on ExMarkets, you need to first deposit either Bitcoin or any of the other cryptocurrencies that are supported by ExMarkets. (However, the APX trading pair is BTC, so in case you deposit something other than Bitcoin, you need to convert that into BTC on ExMarkets first.
Step 1: Click on the person icon in the top right corner. A slide-in menu will appear on the right.
Step 2: Click on the blue “DEPOSIT NOW” button. You will be sent to the user balances page.
Step 3: Scroll down to the cryptocurrency you want to deposit. As mentioned above, we suggest depositing Bitcoin directly, to avoid any further trading fees. Click on the “Deposit” button.
Step 4: The deposit address of your selected cryptocurrency will appear below, including the QR code for that address. Click on the “Copy” button on the far right of the address bar, to copy the address into your clipboard memory.
Step 5: Send the selected cryptocurrency to ExMarkets from your wallet or exchange, where you have stored it. Double check that you have entered the correct address that ExMarkets has given you and that you are using the correct cryptocurrency that you have selected on ExMarkets. Any mistake in that process can lead to a loss of your funds!
Step 6: Wait for the deposit. As the warning on ExMarkets says, it may take up to 1–2 hours for the blockchain network to confirm the transaction, although this usually takes place much faster. Eventually, your funds will appear in your wallet on ExMarkets and be ready for the exchange.
How to exchange Bitcoin for APX
Step 1: Click on Trade in the top menu and get to https://exmarkets.com/trade/.
Step 2: In the top right box you can find a search bar to quickly find your token of choice. Enter APX to filter for the APPICS token and click on the APX/BTC trading pair.
Pro Tip: Click on the little star right of the APX/BTC trading pair, to add it to your favorites list. You can filter your favorites with the yellow “Favorites” button in the top right corner of the trading pairs box.
Step 3: You will now see a QUICK BUY APX box in the top left corner of the screen. You can either use the quick selection and click on 25%/50%/75%/100% to trade the equivalent amount of your Bitcoin deposit or you enter the exact amount of APX tokens into the field below the quick selection bar. This will automatically use the latest APX/BTC market trading price from ExMarkets. Alternatively, you can use the manual limit price box at the bottom right and enter the trading price of your choice.
Step 4: Click on the green QUICK BUY APX button or the green BUY APX when using the limit price window.
Congratulations, you have now successfully traded APX tokens on ExMarkets.
The State of the APPICS App
The internal testing of the new Telos-based APPICS app is in full effect, both iOS and Android have successfully completed Phase 1 of testing and are preparing for Phase 2.
In the second phase we will add more testers and gradually work towards releasing the app for everyone — but before that, we need to test the app on as many different devices as possible and find and fix possible bugs to ensure a smooth user experience of the app.
Our development team on the frontend and backend side is working hard to meet our targets. So far iOS had made faster progress, but we are happy to share that over the last two weeks Android has caught up to the advancements of iOS and both versions are now able to successfully sign transactions on the new blockchain. In the meantime, our backend developers are fixing the remaining bugs and are in the process of implementing the remaining functionalities for the wallet and token swap.
We have also been working on new features that will add even more utility to the APX token and APPICS ecosystem — we are excited to reveal details in an upcoming announcement.
